Public policy is about how governments—and others like nonprofits, businesses, and everyday people—work to solve big problems like climate change, health care, and education. The Public Policy minor helps students understand how change happens and gives them the tools to make a difference. It’s a great add-on to any major, showing how policy connects to all kinds of fields.

For example, an environmental science major might learn how science helps shape laws and decisions. A music major could explore how arts programs are supported by public funding and nonprofits. A business major could understand how government rules affect companies or how to start a socially responsible business.

No matter your major, the minor helps you think about the world around you—and gives you skills to lead, solve problems, and create positive change. You’ll also get to explore public policy, leadership, and nonprofit work along the way.
