The UMass Amherst Department of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences (formerly known as Communication Disorders) is looking for individuals 45 to 64 years of age to participate in an NIH-funded study of hearing changes with age.
The purpose of this study is to identify how early age-related changes in hearing influence the problems that people experience in understanding speech.
Participation will require one visit of approximately two hours in length. During this visit participants will complete tests of hearing and speech comprehension while sitting or walking. Participants must be healthy, native-English speakers who have no motor or neurological disorders that affect balance or walking.
Participants will be awarded $10 per hour of participation. If interested, contact the lab at hearingbrain [at] comdis [dot] umass [dot] edu (hearingbrain[at]comdis[dot]umass[dot]edu).
