Janet Kellogg, who served as a former administrative assistant to Dean Stephen Gehlbach in the School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS) at UMass Amherst from 1995-2003, passed away on February 9, 2024 at age 83. Kellogg later served as an assistant to the dean of the College of Engineering from 2003 until her retirement.

"Janet always had a smile on her face! She was a kind woman with a big heart," says Gloria DiFulvio, Associate Dean for Undergraduate Academic Affairs.

“Janet made me feel very welcomed when I joined the SPHHS in 1996,” adds senior lecturer Daniel Gerber. “But then she did that for everyone who walked into the Dean’s office.”

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the ASCPA (ascpa.org), the Disabled Vets (DAV.org) or the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org).
