Delta Omega Honor Society Inducts New SPHHS Members

The Rho Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health inducted six new members during a luncheon held May 11, 2026. Delta Omega, the honorary society for the study of public health, encourages excellence in student scholarship and research, recognizes academic achievement, and provides members with leadership development, publication, and networking opportunities.

The 2026 cohort includes public health sciences majors Thea Lynn Bassett, Zac Foerster, Anika Maharaj, Alison Martin, and Firdaus Muhammad and MPH student Parul Chhatpar.

Originally founded in 1924 at Johns Hopkins University, the national Delta Omega Society currently has over 130 chapters at CEPH-accredited schools and programs and has more than 30,000 members. The Rho Chapter at the University of Massachusetts Amherst was founded in 1985.
