Cheng Wang Named a Finalist for the American Society for Nutrition’s Three-Minute Thesis Competition

Nutrition doctoral candidate Cheng Wang has been named a finalist in the American Society for Nutrition’s (ASN) Student Interest Group (SIG) Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition, an educational activity that recognizes students presenting outstanding research. 

Six finalists were chosen from 239 applicants and will be recognized during NUTRITION 2026, the American Society for Nutrition’s annual flagship meeting, which will be held from July 25-28 in National Harbor, MD, just outside Washington, DC. 

Wang, who works under the supervision of Professor of Nutrition Zhenhua Liu, submitted an abstract titled “Early-Life High-Fat Diet-Driven Mammary microRNA Remodeling Bridges Gut Microbiome Dysbiosis and Breast Microenvironment Alterations.”

“The Student Interest Group Student Awards recognize ​outstanding graduate students through a juried review of submitted abstracts for ASN’s annual meeting. ASN and the ASN Student Interest Group congratulate the selected finalists who demonstrated significant scientific accomplishments this year,” stated Maria Cinzori, who serves as Chair of ASN’s Student Interest Group.
