Athletics Internships Enrollment Policies

You were hired! Next steps and policies for credited internships 

Enrollment for Credit:

*The KIN Dept. will reach out to Athletic Preceptors for lists of interns for each area, each semester. 

*Students will be emailed with detailed instructions with an submission deadline. 

*All internships need to be proposed through SPIRE. 
        - Returning interns need to propose their internship each semester for credit, internships do not carry over automatically

*Athletic Internships will be approved with a summary paper component. 

*Once approved by Prof. Grinnell and central Career, enrollment will show on SPIRE. 

*Internship enrollment is subject to the same Add/Drop deadlines as other Univ. classes. 

Summer/Winter

*Summer/Winter enrollment process is similar to the academic year. All internships need t be approved through SPIRE for credit

*UWW+ fees are assessed for all non-academic term internships
        - Per credit free + enrollment fee

*Retro-active credit will not be approved. All internships must be proposed during the add/drop dates for Summer/Winter

Sport Medicine, Fall Football Internship

*The fall sport medicine internship is 6 credits, for 18 hours a week

*Credit overloads will not be approved for students who are in their third semester or less, no exceptions

*It is recommended that ALL students are registered for less than 12 class credits on top of the internship. Credit Overload petitions will generally not be approved unless there are extenuating circumstances.
