Graduate Faster

The UMass 4+1 Accelerated master’s degree gives college credit toward your university undergraduate degree, while fulfilling some of the course requirements of a graduate degree.

The School of Public Health and Health Sciences offers a variety of Accelerated 4+1 bachelor + master’s degree programs. These programs allow interested undergraduates to take 12 to 18 credits of graduate coursework in their senior undergraduate year, and then complete their master’s degree with just one additional year of full-time graduate study.

Gain a Competitive Edge

Earning a master’s degree can give you a competitive edge when applying for jobs, and completing the degree in one extra year of graduate study gets you into your career faster.

Save Money

Completing your graduate degree with just one additional year of study — instead of two — also saves you a full year of tuition. That’s an average savings of $17k for an in-state student.
