About
My overall research is aimed to better understand how gender norms impact physical activity and how cognition in adults with ADHD create barriers to health behavior change. More specifically, I exam how different forms of sexism impact physical activity in girls and women. Currently, we interested in conducting studies assessing the relationship between sexism and physical activity in more ethnically diverse and in other age groups. The goal of this research is to provide findings to inform future interventions.
My most recent research endeavor is assessing how specific executive functions relate habitual physical activity and successful health behavior change in adults with ADHD. Many interventions are designed using theories that presume sufficient executive functioning. Understanding how executive functioning impacts different aspects of health behavior change can provide novel approaches to develop interventions.
