Mel Vakili

Mel is a senior public health major in the 4+1 MPH Health Policy & Management program. She is currently involved in Greek life on campus, working off campus, volunteering in downtown Amherst, and is an SPHHS Student Ambassador. Previously, she has been involved in the professional MED fraternity, has studied abroad in Italy and Costa Rica, and was a Chem 112 TA.

One piece of advice Mel has for incoming students is,

 “Everyone is nervous about making friends when they’re going to college! Stay true to yourself, and you will find your people--they’re what will make UMass feel like home.”
