Mariana Pinto-Alvarez

Physician and public health professional from Colombia, with an MD and an MPH from Pontificia Universidad Javeriana, and a doctoral candidate in Community Health Education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Research focuses on population mental health and mental health inequities. 

The dissertation examines suicidal ideation among older adults in Bogotá, Colombia, emphasizing social and structural determinants of mental health across the life course.
