Carlo Candalla

Carlo Candalla, MBA, MS, is an accomplished educator and healthcare finance executive with extensive experience spanning public health, healthcare administration, and financial management. He serves as an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University, where he teaches graduate courses in healthcare administration and finance. In addition, he teaches in the MBA in Healthcare Leadership program at SUNY Empire State University and has held numerous faculty appointments across institutions such as Molloy University, the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Shenandoah University, the University of Rhode Island, Central Michigan University, Maryville University, and the University of Cincinnati. His teaching portfolio includes healthcare finance, reimbursement, economics, leadership, accounting, policy, and public health, delivered in both synchronous and asynchronous online formats.

Alongside his academic work, Mr. Candalla is the Chief Financial Officer of Healthcare Commons, Inc., bringing more than two decades of progressive leadership experience in behavioral health and nonprofit organizations. He previously served as CFO, Vice President of Finance, Executive Vice President, and Senior Vice President of Corporate Finance & Administration at Lenape Valley Foundation and Wedge Medical Center. His expertise includes financial strategy, budgeting, regulatory compliance, internal controls, and revenue cycle optimization.
