Researchers Seek Participants for Study Examining Field of View Restrictions in Head-mounted Displays
Researchers in the Departments of Kinesiology and Electrical and Computer Engineering are recruiting healthy adults aged 18-40 for a research study that examines how field of view restrictions in head-mounted displays influences the way people move their eyes, head and body while searching for targets.
Volunteers should have normal vision, good physical health, no visual impairments and no diagnosed neurological/neuromuscular conditions. They will attend an approximately two-hour session, scheduled at their convenience, at the Center for Human Health & Performance in the Life Science Laboratories, where they will perform a visual search task in VR while researchers record their movements and other physiological data, such as heart rate.
Volunteers will be compensated with $40 in cash.
Those interested should complete the screening survey found here. For questions, contact Josh Liddy, research assistant professor of kinesiology, at jliddy@umass.edu.
