Published by Routledge, “Spanish Accents and Dialects for Actors” offers an accessible approach to diving into the cultural context, oral posture, pronunciation, and other key characteristics of these complex and layered accents and dialects.

Co-authored by Josh F.S. Moser of Kean University and Adi Cabral of the University of Nevada, Reno, the book is a conscientiously researched and linguistically detailed analyses of the Spanish-speaking regions of North America and the Caribbean, which provides a challenge to outdated stereotypes and generalizations.

Gonzales is a Mexican-American theatre artist, educator and playwright. In addition to voice and dialect coaching, she wrote and performed in her original play with music, “Olvidados: A Mexican American Corrido,” a 2022 semi-finalist for the O’Neill National Music Theatre Conference, and in 2025 she made her Broadway debut as the dialect coach for “Real Women Have Curves.” Her essay, “El Silencio: A Chicana Perspective on Contemporary Latinx Theatre and Performance as Testimonio,” was published in 2024 in The Routledge Companion to Latine Theatre and Performance.
