Chancellor Javier Reyes Attends Gov. Healey’s 2024 State of the Commonwealth Address

Chancellor Javier Reyes was an invited guest of Gov. Maura Healey as she presented her 2024 State of the Commonwealth Address at the State House on January 17.

Among the accomplishments Healey touted from her first year in office was the nearly $62 million in new program funding for the MASSGrant Plus Expansion program, which will cover tuition, fees, books and supply costs for Pell Grant-eligible students and reduce out-of-pocket expenses for middle-income students by up to half.

The chancellor captioned his post with, Honored @MassGovernor Healey invited me to attend her first State of the State Address tonight. Beforehand I spent time with @UMasss own A Cappella singing group @DulyNotedUMass, who performed after the address. At the event I sat with UMass Boston Chancellor @MarceloSuarezOrozco.

In addition to the chancellor’s attendance at the event, UMass Amherst was also represented by the a cappella group Duly Noted, who performed after Healey’s address.
