Grad Students and Postdocs
CNS is committed to fostering the inclusive excellence of our graduate students and postdoctoral fellows. We aim to provide an equitable and inclusive learning environment and community where all of our graduate students and postdocs can thrive. To increase the diversity of our grad student and postdoc populations, we attend both the National Diversity in STEM Conference hosted by SACNAS and the Annual Biomedical Research Conference for Minoritized Scientists.
CNS Programs
EDGE Program - This first year transition program provides increased community building and professional development opportunities to incoming Ph.D. students from underrepresented and minoritized backgrounds.
Diversity Travel Grants - CNS launched a Diversity Travel Grant program that provides awards to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows for attendance at conferences devoted to diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Call for applications for these grants are held twice per year.
