Yulong Lu's research interests lie in the area of applied analysis, applied probability and statistics. He has been developing and utilizing analytic and probabilistic tools such as calculus of variations, PDEs, optimal transport and stochastic analysis to study a broad range of problems from mathematics, physics, statistics and machine learning. His academic goal is to build an interdisciplinary research program at the interface of mathematics, statistics and other fields of science such as data science and physical sciences.
