Krista J. Gile

Krista Gile is a statistician who develops and evaluates statistical and sampling methods relevant to social science and health policy. Because these projects are substantively driven, the data are often messy and therefore not conducive to standard statistical methods. She especially enjoys studying technical details alongside their practical implications. Much of her work has focused on methods for making inference from sparse data on hard-to-reach human populations, with social or health policy implications. She is also co-director of Statistical Consulting and Collaboration Services and Associate Director of the Computational Social Science Institute.
