In conjunction with the Five Colleges, East Asian literatures and cultures offers a 19-credit certificate in Korean language. Through beginning, intermediate, and advanced level courses, students will gain the four fundamental language skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Korean.

In addition, students may supplement their Korean language skills with courses on Korean history, literature, current events, and culture. Students in this program have gone on to participate in regional as well as New England-area speech contests, connecting and building community with other Korean language students in more relaxed settings.

Students in this program are invited to enjoy a variety of cultural experiences through the program’s weekly tea meetings and through the annual cooking class, New Year celebration, and speech contest.
