Inside UMass Submissions
If you'd like your story to appear in the weekly internal newsletter managed by the Office of News and Media Relations, please submit it directly via the Inside UMass web form and let our team know you've submitted this story by emailing hfa [at] umass [dot] edu.
All submissions should be received by 5 p.m. Tuesday to be considered for that week's Thursday issue of Inside UMass.
- Submissions should be a first draft of the proposed story, written in full-sentences, in style and tone similar to other Inside UMass stories.
- Be sure to include an image, headline, and clear, concise lead paragraph.
- Quotes from your department chair or event organizer are encouraged.
- Remember to spell out acronyms and include titles for each person who is mentioned.
- While fliers and posters can be a helpful visual aid, a written description of events or news gives the editors context for the story. At the editor’s discretion, some stories may be held until the following week or not run at all.
All submissions will be edited to reflect Associated Press and UMass Amherst style guidelines. Submissions may also be edited for length or clarity at the editor’s discretion.
