My Senior Year Bucket List

As my last semester at UMass approaches, I’ve been thinking about everything I want to check off my college bucket list. There’s so much to do, but so little time left. I’ll be squeezing in all of my bucket list activities during my final months at UMass. Here is my senior year bucket list!
Go to every dining hall, cafe, and co-op on campus

Over the years, I’ve been to most of the on-campus eateries, but before I graduate, I want to make sure I visit every spot at least once. Living off campus has meant I eat fewer meals on campus than in previous years, but I’m determined to change that this semester. My first stop will be the student-run co-op, Greeno Sub Shop. It’s the one co-op I haven’t been to yet, so I want to check it off my list as early as possible.
Go on a tropical spring break trip
Traveling to a warm destination for spring break has always been something I have wanted to do while at UMass. For my first two spring break trips, my friends and I visited Montreal, Canada, for a few days, and last year I went to Portugal while studying abroad. Now that I’m back on campus for the spring semester, I’m thrilled to be traveling to Puerto Rico for my final spring break! During the week off, ten of my friends and I will head to San Juan to indulge in everything the city has to offer. I’m especially excited to hang out on the beach, explore the streets of Old San Juan, and hopefully visit El Yunque Rainforest.

Make a memory jar
Although this idea may sound cliché, my roommates and I are planning to write down our favorite moments from the semester as they happen and keep them in a jar until the last day of the semester. On the day of graduation, we are going to open the jar and reflect on all of our favorite memories together. This will be a great keepsake and something I hope to enjoy years down the road.
Take graduation photos with my best friends
This year, I recently purchased a DSLR camera and plan to take fun graduation photos with my friends. While I’m not a professional photographer, I’m excited to test out my camera with all of us in our caps and gowns. It’ll be a great way to capture us together on campus one last time.
Study in all of my favorite spots
Over the years, I’ve struggled to settle on one study spot, which has led me to discover many places on campus where I love working. In my first year, I spent most of my time studying at South College. In my second year, I frequented the ILC, particularly the journalism hub, and found myself at the Design Building quite often. During my third year, I spent nearly all of my free time in the Student Union or the library, and now I study all over campus. In this last semester, I’m making it a point to study in all my favorite spots around campus.
Hopefully, by the end of the semester, I will have checked off all of the items on my senior bucket list! Creating a list of things to do each semester is a great way to ensure you make the most of your time at UMass, so I definitely recommend doing so if you’re interested.
