About

Introduction

Intergroup Dialogue (IGD) invites and prepares participants to engage in courageous conversations about social identities, systemic inequities, contentious issues, and visions for hope and justice. IGD is a research-informed, transformative, embodied practice that provides co-facilitated, small-group learning opportunities.

IGD offerings at UMass Amherst help participants to build relationships, learn more about themselves and others in relation to the world around them, make meaning of these social and political realities, and take action towards social justice. These offerings include opportunities to participate in dialogue in IGD courses and to engage in community dialogue on campus.
