Accreditation
During its most recent visit, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) continued accreditation for the UMass Amherst College of Education for the maximum term of 7 years from 2015 to 2022.
The College of Education was first accredited in 1962. After the College of Education's most recent reaccreditation, the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) merged to form the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). CAEP advances excellent educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning. More information about the College's accreditation is available at NCATE's website.
