The UMass Amherst College of Education receives continued accreditation for full seven-year period

The Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) continued accreditation for the UMass Amherst College of Education for the maximum term of 7 years from 2015 to 2022. The College of Education was first accredited in 1962.

CAEP is the accrediting body for educator preparation, which resulted from the consolidation in July 2015 of the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) and the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC.) CAEP advances excellent educator preparation through evidence-based accreditation that assures quality and supports continuous improvement to strengthen P-12 student learning.
