Financial Aid and Scholarships

We understand that investing in your education is a significant financial decision. With available scholarships and other tuition assistance programs, we make investing in tomorrow a little easier today. We also offer a no-interest installment payment plan to help spread the costs over the semester.

Apply for Financial Aid

To be eligible for federal financial aid, you will need to enroll in at least 6 credits per semester and complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The UMass Amherst school code is 002221.

To learn more about applying for financial aid, please visit Financial Aid Services or call 413-545-0801.

The two University+ scholarships are specifically available to students enrolled in primarily University+ based programs.

In addition, the UWW Department of Interdisciplinary Studies program awards thousands of dollars in need-based scholarships to its students each semester. Explore what opportunities are available and apply.

UMass Amherst Microgrants

If you are experiencing an unexpected financial emergency such as a loss of income or increase in expenses, resources may be available to you through the Dean of Students Office. We encourage you to apply for a microgrant of up to $500.

If you are a student parent facing unexpected expenses that would negatively impact your academic progress, resources may also be available through Student Parent Programs. We encourage you to apply for a family grant of up to $500. Unlike microgrants through the Dean of Students Office, family grants are available up to twice per academic year.

Early Childhood Educators Scholarship Program

You may be eligible for the Early Childhood Educators Scholarship Program if you live in Massachusetts and work as an educator or provider in an early education and care program or out of school time program that is licensed or authorized by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).
