Accessible Van Service

Passengers with temporary disabilities can register directly with the Accessible Van Service Dispatcher by calling (413) 545-2086. Dispatchers are available Monday-Friday, 7am-5pm.

Additionally, please have your medical provider fill out an Eligibility Form (available below). If your provider is a medical provider outside of University Health Services, they should attach a doctor's note and provide contact information for their practice. Providers can fax this to (413) 545-1930.

UMass students who need our service on a long-term basis must register with Disability Services by calling (413) 545-0892.

UMass faculty and staff who are seeking qualifying disability status and reasonable workplace accommodations should contact the Accessible Workplace Office.

For the health and safety of our drivers and passengers, we ask that passengers who are feeling ill cancel existing rides and refrain from arranging new ones.

Passengers and their guests are not required to wear a mask. Passengers may ask their driver to wear a mask; advance requests are preferable and can be made with the dispatcher when scheduling the ride.

Five-Colleges Incorporated will fund trips between UMass, Hampshire College, Amherst College, Mount Holyoke College, and Smith College for some academic programs. These trips are scheduled through the UMass Transit Charter Services. Inquiries should be directed to Diana Noble (@email) at least one week in advance.

The PVTA provides ADA paratransit service for people with disabilities. This service provides a shared-ride, door-to-door van transportation for individuals with disabilities that prevent them from riding the fixed route bus service. PVTA provides paratransit service throughout the Pioneer Valley within 3/4 mile of a fixed PVTA bus route. The paratransit service runs on all days that the fixed-route bus service operates.
