SBS Communication Support
The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences (SBS) is available to help with the promotion of programs, internships, events, and more. As representatives of the University, we are also stewards of the UMass Amherst brand and are dedicated to upholding the visual and written standards set by University Relations and the Chancellor's Office.
How can we help?
The SBS communications team are available to help with the promotion of projects that are in-line with the messaging priorities of the College. Due to time and resource constraints, we may not be able to assist in all projects and prioritize projects that have a strategic purpose.
Share Your Stories
The SBS communications team is always on the lookout for opportunities to share the amazing work of our faculty, staff, and students. We have a number of platforms where this content can be shared, ranging from potential inclusion in UMass Magazine, the UMass News & Events page, the SBS website, social media channels, to University-wide and internal newsletters. If you have a story to share, we want to hear about it!
Event Promotion & Support
The communications team is happy to promote SBS and SBS-related events. For events sponsored by the Dean's Office, we are able to create visual promotional aids, such as posters and social media graphics. In order to best promote your event, including adding the event to our website, we suggest submitting a promotion request no later than two weeks before the event.
For events sponsored by the Dean's Office, we are also able to provide in-person technical support. To ensure staffing of your event, please submit a request for assistance no later than four weeks prior to the event. To request assistance, please email sam [dot] jackson [at] umass [dot] edu (Sam Sarfaty-Jackson).
MarketingCloud Training & Support
MarketingCloud is the only approved commercial mass emailing system approved for use by University Relations. The SBS communications team can facilitate training for unit contacts who routinely send mass communications to students (i.e., newsletters, event announcements, department announcements, etc.). We are also able to help troubleshoot design issues within MarketingCloud.
Mass email sends to alumni are subject to review by Advancement - the communications team is able to facilitate this process. For assistance with MarketingCloud issues, please email mworoner [at] umass [dot] edu (Morgan Woroner).
Social Media Assistance
Need help with social media? The SBS communications team can help with the setup and strategy of new accounts, as well as offering advice on how departments and program areas can manage their social media content. We are also happy to share content that is directly related to SBS departments and program areas. For more information, please email carriebergma [at] umass [dot] edu (Carrie Bergman).
Professional Photography
We are happy to work with faculty and staff to produce professional-quality headshots for use online and in print publications. In order to schedule a session, please email sam [dot] jackson [at] umass [dot] edu (Sam Sarfaty-Jackson).
