The UMass Amherst School of Public Policy offers an online graduate certificate in public policy and management designed for public sector leaders, current practitioners, recently graduated students at the beginning of their career, and current graduate students who want to gain a practical toolkit for public sector management and more deeply understand the policymaking process.

Our 3-course (9 credit hour) online graduate certificate allow students to gain a range of knowledge and skills without committing to a full master’s degree. Coursework will expose students to the policymaking process, economics for public policy, public budgeting and management, and a variety of other topics central to careers in the public and non-profit sector. Several of the included classes are: SPP 601: Politics and the Policy Process, SPP 605: Economics and Public Policy, SPP 611: Comparative Public Policy, SPP 690STP: The Future of Government, and much more.

Anyone with a bachelor's degree may pursue the online Public Policy and Management certificate by enrolling as a non-degree graduate student through UMass University Without Walls.
