The Okanagan Wellbeing Collective hosted a gallery exhibit of “Diffractions: A Photovoice Project of Student and Staff Experiences of Health and Wellbeing,” Wednesday, May 17 from 4:30-7:30 p.m. at the Bromery Center for the Arts atrium. The project was led by Health Promotion and Policy doctoral candidate Mira Weil.
The exhibit highlighted the creativity and diversity of the UMass community’s perspectives and experiences related to health and wellbeing. It served as an opportunity to learn more about how to promote wellbeing in daily life, as well as appreciate the talents of colleagues and students.
Weil says the process was a "way to promote well-being through building connections and friendships."
In addition to seeing photos and reading the stories around them, there were opportunities for attendees to offer their own reflections or stories by writing them on cards placed around the exhibit or uploading them to a Google site.
