USDA Forest Service - Ozone Biomonitoring Program
We are conducting a multi-state (MD, MN, NC, NJ, NY, OR, PA) project that examines how environmental factors such as temperature, humidity and light affect crop responses to ambient ozone. This study utilizes ozone-sensitive and ozone-tolerant snap bean cultivars grown under field conditions. The study employs common experimental protocols and crop management practices among sites. Hourly measurements of air temperature, relative humidity, sunlight, wind speed and ozone concentrations will be used in multiple regression models to predict how environmental factors influence plant growth and yield.
