Application Criteria and Guidelines

The CNS Excellence in Faculty Peer Mentoring Award recognizes and honors faculty who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to mentoring fellow faculty members. One award will be made each year.
Eligibility
- All CNS faculty are eligible to be nominated for this award.
- Any person who received this award or another University mentoring award in the past five years is not eligible.
- Nominations can be made by CNS department heads/chairs or by any CNS faculty member.
- Recipients receive a $1000 honorarium.
Award Criteria:
- Successful nominees will have demonstrated exceptional mentoring of one or more other faculty members. Exceptional mentoring may include mentoring of individual faculty, facilitating/creating mentoring communities, and/or building infrastructure to support faculty peer mentoring.
- Nominees may be at any stage of their career.
The Nominating Process:
Use this form to submit a nomination (Nomination Form). You will be asked to provide:
- A nomination letter written by the department head/chair or any CNS faculty member (maximum two pages). The letter should:
- advocate and outline the case for why and how the nominee has met the award criteria;
- indicate the relationship between the nominator and nominee (if the letter is not from the department head/chair).
- An abbreviated CV that includes a list of mentoring activities (maximum five pages).
- An optional letter of support. The letter should:
- demonstrate how the nominee meets the criteria for the award;
- describe the relationship between the letter writer and nominee.
Deadline:
Nominations for the CNS Excellence in Faculty Peer Mentoring Award are due no later than 5 p.m. on February 7th, 2025.
