As part of the 2022 UMass Amherst homecoming celebration, the College of Humanities and Fine Arts hosted “Celebrating the Power of the Humanities and Arts,” an evening that honored faculty, students, and alumni accomplishments. Among its honorees included seven HFA faculty members, five of whom were in attendance and were recognized by Dean Barbara Krauthamer.
“Our students, faculty, and alumni offer perspectives as linguists, architects, historians, philosophers, artists, performers, and writers working in every medium. They are not afraid to challenge the status quo, to courageously explore historical and contemporary issues that have shaped the past and present, to examine human interactions, to debate ethics in the digital age, or to ask ‘Why?’,” said Krauthamer. “We see this distinct tenacity, curiosity, and imagination in the accomplishments of our students, alumni, and faculty who will be recognized throughout this program.”
