Elisa Gonzales, professional voice and dialect coach, actor, writer, and assistant professor in the Department of Theater, was recently interviewed on NPR to discuss "Olvidados: A Mexican American Corrido," her one woman play with music. It was recently performed at CitySpace’s Blue Room.
Featuring additional lyrics by Moisés Vázquez, the play is based on true-life events during the Repatriation. During the interview, Gonzales spoke about her family’s difficult experience during the Mexican Repatriation Act in effect from 1929 -1936.
