Dean's Welcome 2024
Dear Graduates,
Congratulations! It is with great pride that we gather today to celebrate you. I hope you take a moment to reflect on all that you’ve achieved during your time within the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Humanities & Fine Arts (HFA).
Today’s ceremony recognizes your success, academic achievement, and bright future as a graduate of our school. It is a celebration of what was and what is to come, of the community of friends and loved ones who made it all worth it, and of the collection of life’s big and small moments that brought you here.
I would also like to welcome you to our growing alumni community. Upon graduation, you take the creative mission of HFA and put it into practice out in the world. We hope you will consider remaining active and engaged with the College throughout your career—and perhaps even come back to visit from time to time.
As you move forward into this next phase of your life, remember that graduation is not the end; it is the beginning of a new and thrilling chapter. Embrace it with courage, passion, creativity, curiosity, and a commitment to justice and equity for all. Congratulations once again, and we look forward to your continued success as alumni of the University of Massachusetts Amherst College of Humanities & Fine Arts!
Sincerely,
Joye Bowman
