I had the pleasure of studying abroad at University of Oxford, Trinity College, in the U.K. for six weeks in summer 2021, taking two upper-level courses. I was able to immerse myself in the rich culture of historic England, particularly through my completion of an art history and architecture course. Additionally, I traveled outside of Oxford to riveting locations such as London, Cardiff, and Edinburgh. Through my experience abroad, I have developed a strong sense of the differing social and cultural values that shape the United Kingdom and Europe as a whole. I am now formulating my Honors Thesis, “Analyzing the Impact of Adolescent-Onset Anxiety Disorder on the Development of Substance Use Disorder in Middle Adulthood.” After completing a gap year, I intend to enroll in a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) program or PhD program with a focus in psychotherapy.
