Studied abroad at the Institut Catholique de Paris in Paris, France in Spring 2025
Studying abroad in Paris was both personally and academically fulfilling. I completed an intensive program taught entirely in French. This was challenging at first, but I quickly adapted, passing all my courses and earning a Certificat d’Études en Français Langue Étrangère at the B2.2 level. Engaging with written materials and conversing with professors in French strengthened my language skills and increased my confidence. Taking courses on French cinema and gastronomy deepened my cultural knowledge. Overall, studying abroad taught me how to approach intercultural interactions with greater awareness and sensitivity.
I am writing an Honors thesis on Russian foreign policy in Francophone Africa, examining how social media propaganda and state capture further Moscow’s economic and political objectives. I serve as Attorney General of the UMass Student Government Association, protecting student rights and ensuring policy compliance. I am currently applying to law school with the goal of practicing trusts and estates law.
