Major: Public Health (Pre-Med) & Certificates in Spanish and Health, Civic Engagement, and Public Service
I am completing an Honors portfolio in conjunction with a service-learning capstone and the Spanish and health certificates’ integrative experience requirement. For my project, I have partnered with the Arc of Massachusetts, an organization that aims to enhance the lives of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) through advocacy work. I am currently working with the Arc on its Operation House Call program, which provides critical training to medical students on best practices for working with individuals with I/DD. I am attempting to bring an intersectional lens to this disability-focused program and English as a second language, and the barriers that may result from these identities within the healthcare system. I will be applying to medical school in the following cycle.
