Major: Public Health (Pre-Med)
My Honors Thesis addresses the interrelated issues of Human Immunodeficiency Virus, Hepatitis C Virus, and Opioid Use Disorder among incarcerated populations. I am also in an accelerated master’s degree program, working toward earning an MPH in epidemiology in 2023. Following that, I plan to apply to medical school. I had hoped to study abroad in Cuba, but I was unable to due to the COVID-19 pandemic. My academic interests lie in the fields of infectious disease and global health, especially in diseases that disproportionately affect underprivileged populations, such as neglected tropical diseases. I feel that the International Scholars Program has helped me gain valuable skills in preparation for working with individuals and communities of various cultures.
