Major: Mathematics with a Statistics Concentration & Minor: Business
I am working on my Honors Thesis, “Prediction of Stock Market Trends Using Wavelet Transform,” about predicting the stock market based on previous market trends by breaking the time series using wavelet analysis in MATLAB. In December 2021, I will be speaking in a women’s seminar at Holyoke Community College. I am also a part of a financial mathematics project on “Asset Bubbles and Model,” which will be presented in the latter half of December. I am a stock pitch presenter for my club, Smart Women Securities, which will also take place in December. I will also be presenting my thesis in the Massachusetts Undergraduate Research Conference in the spring semester. Since I am graduating in spring 2022 as an international student, I will need to change my visa status from F-1 to OPT and, because of that, I am looking for jobs in the finance industry—particularly as a financial analyst since I am interested in financial mathematics and traditional finance. This job will allow me to enter the practical field and prepare me for my future endeavors.
