Adeline Beckert
Major: Natural Resources Conservation, Minors: Environmental Science & Political Science
Studied at: The Autonomous University of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain) during the Spring 2024 semester
During my time studying abroad in Barcelona, I participated in an immersive and hands-on academic experience, taking courses in cross-cultural communication, geopolitics, and the Spanish language. Living in a city rich with Catalan heritage, I fully embraced the local culture. In addition to my studies, I traveled to over 10 cities across Europe, where each new destination contributed to my personal growth and expanded my worldview. This experience has been pivotal in shaping both my personal and professional development, broadening my perspectives across borders. Barcelona, with its unique vibrancy, will always hold a special place in my heart.
I plan to leverage my international experience as a key component of my skillset as I prepare to enter the workforce. Currently, I am completing my Honors Thesis on the economics of the renewable energy transition, and I intend to pursue a career in the sustainability sector after graduation. The global knowledge and cross-cultural competencies I gained abroad will serve as invaluable tools, helping me navigate the complexities of an interconnected world as I carve out my place in the industry.
