About
I have a split role at Commonwealth Honors College. I serve as the Assistant Director of Scholarship Advisement in the Office of National Scholarship Advisement (ONSA), where I work with both Honors and non-Honors students applying for nationally competitive scholarships such as the Fulbright, Boren, Gilman, and the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS), among others. I also serve as the campus representative for several of these scholarship programs, managing the campus selection, advising, and nomination processes while coordinating with faculty and staff on campus as well as external scholarship funding and implementing organizations.
The other part of my role is academic advising in Commonwealth Honors College, where I advise Honors students on the Honors curriculum, Honors requirements, and the Honors thesis process. I also serve as one of the primary advisors for Honors transfer students, helping them successfully transition to UMass and navigate their Honors experience.
I hold a master's degree in Higher Education Administration and expect to complete my Ph.D. in the same field soon at UMass. My scholarly and professional interests include college access and student success, higher education policy, study abroad, and the internationalization of higher education. I have worked in higher education both internationally and in the United States for more than 15 years and have taught college courses on student success and quality assurance in higher education.
The most rewarding part of my work is helping students achieve their academic and professional goals. Whether I am advising students on prestigious scholarship opportunities or supporting them through their Honors journey, I enjoy helping them identify opportunities, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential.
