About
Dr. Kofi A. Cash is a distinguished healthcare executive and visionary leader with more than 15 years of experience reporting to hospital governing bodies, including boards of trustees.
Dr. Cash has held senior executive roles within acute-care settings, including Chief Quality Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Vice President of Operations. He is board-certified in healthcare management as a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE). His contributions to the field have garnered national attention, including an article published in the Healthcare Executive magazine and recognition by Becker’s Hospital Review for executive leadership excellence.
Dr. Cash's doctoral research, completed at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), on "the relationship between doctoral-educated hospital CEOs and organizational performance," has been downloaded over 1,000 times on ProQuest and contributes to the strategic leadership dialogue across the sector.
He earned his MS degree in Healthcare Administration from Dartmouth Medical School and a BS degree (Commonwealth Honors College) in Biology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. At UMass, he has sponsored the Kofi Cash Award for exceptional undergrads pursuing independent research for more than two decades, a partnership between the Biology Department and the Honors College. He also has a certificate in Executive Healthcare Leadership from Cornell University.
Dr. Cash was appointed to serve on the Honors College Advisory Board in August 2019.
