Senior, Community Education and Social Change Major
Year: Senior
Major: Community Education & Social Change on the Elementary 4+1 path
Hometown: North Andover, Massachusetts
My favorite summer activity is... to go swimming at the beach with my friends (in reality I'm probably reading outside soaking up the sun).
The most essential item to bring to your dorm is... a really good mattress topper. If you can splurge on a mattress topper highly recommend it, I had mine all four years and it is the most comfortable thing in the world.
My favorite EDUC class in my first year was... EDUC 325: Intro to Special Education
Word of advice for incoming first years: Check your emails, there is so much going on at the school and you will find out most of it through emails. There are events going on all the time especially in the first year dorms with floor meetings, house council, and Peer Mentor events.

My favorite summer activity is... reading a good book on the beach!
The most essential item to bring to your dorm is... Snacks!! Despite how good UMass dining is, you'll still want to have food in your dorm.
My favorite EDUC class in my first year was... EDUC 101: Intro to Education
Word of advice for incoming first years: Leave your door open in your dorm and don't be afraid to introduce yourself to new people! I met my best friends of 2+ years in the common room of my res hall. Put yourself out there!
