AI-Use in K-12 Schools
In its third annual Civic Summit, the Center for Education Policy invited Massachusetts residents to identify promising and perilous applications of artificial intelligence in the classroom.
The panel of educators and experts included April Camuso, Principal of Hopkins Academy and UMass Amherst College of Education graduate student; Torrey Trust, Professor of Learning Technology in the College of Education; third grade teacher Tasheira Gary; Rebecca Mazur, UMass alumna and Director of the Center for Emerging Educational Practices at the Collaborative for Educational Services; high school student Sarim Chaudhry; and Jeffrey C. Riley, Co-Founder and Executive Director of Day of AI, and formerly Massachusetts Commissioner of Elementary and Secondary Education.
