Jack Schneider Discusses the Replacement of the MCAS

Renowned author, Dwight W. Allen distinguished professor, and Director of The Center for Education Policy, Dr. Jack Schneider in collaboration with Jessica Tang, President of AFT Massachusetts, recently spoke out against the MCAS in a Boston Globe article published on October 11th. In it, they speak about the history and shortcomings of the system, address the common arguments defending it, and analyze multiple potential alternatives. This article is in response to the MCAS’s continued use for determining graduation being on the upcoming 2024 ballot.
