Pempho Chinkondenji, a Ph.D. Student in International Education, has been awarded the Joyce A. Berkman Award for Outstanding Graduate Feminist Scholarship for her essay "(Un)making Schooling for Pregnant learners and Re-Integration of Student Mothers: The formation of Critical Afro-Feminist Education." This prize is awarded annually by the UMass Amherst Department of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies in honor of Joyce A. Berkman, co-founder of the WGSS Department. Learn more.
