College of Education Departmental Honors
Admission Requirements
To participate in the Departmental Honors, students must apply to the Commonwealth Honors College specially for Education Departmental Honors. Students will be informed by the Honors College about the departmental honors decision.
Program Requirements
- Education (EDUC) or Human Development (HUMANDEV) honors course at any level. HI (1-2 credit add-on independent studies), ISH (3-6 credit standalone independent studies), and Honors Colloquia may be used to meet this requirement.
- Education (EDUC) or Human Development (HUMANDEV) course 300 Level or higher. HI (1-2 credit add-on independent studies), ISH (3-6 credit standalone independent studies), Honors Colloquia and approved graduate-level courses in EDUC may be used to meet this requirement.
- Completion of the Honors Thesis (Research Manuscript or Creative Portfolio).
- EDUC 499Y Honors Research (research supervisor must be a College of Education faculty member)
- EDUC 499T/P Honors Thesis (chair of the committee must be a College of Education faculty member)
