Research Centers
Research Centers: Our Center for Education Policy conducts research on and organizes projects related to civic education and participation. This includes a forthcoming “Civic Summit” on the preparation of informed voters. Visit the Center for Education Policy for more details.

Our library has extensive archives related to historical and current election data. You can access these resources at UMass Libraries.
Student Organizations
Join a club on campus, such as our Education Club, to participate in discussions, events, and civic engagement initiatives, or visit the Recreation and Wellbeing Center to engage in physical and wellness activities.
Democracy in Troubled Times
The Democracy in Troubled Times campus wide initiative, led by faculty in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences in collaboration with many sponsors and partners.
Democracy in Troubled Times aims to address the challenges democracy faces in the U.S. and elsewhere, examining both enduring struggles and new challenges. It was designed to contribute to the significant efforts already underway on campus to address these issues.
Community, Democracy, and Dialogue
Another initiative examining the issue of navigating challenging, complex and controversial subjects in ways that bring our community together Community, Democracy and Dialogue, which supports the UMass Amherst commitment to promoting the exercise of free speech and nurturing discussions that foster empathy, broaden perspectives and diminish polarization.
International Community Town Hall
On Wednesday, December 4th, the College of Education hosted a town hall for international students, faculty, and staff in the Carney Family Auditorium. A representative from the Office of Global Affairs, along with Dean Kelly, provided brief remarks and responded to participant questions. A complete recording of the event can be found HERE.
