Please join the UMass Amherst College of Education for a celebration of Dr. Justin A. Coles’ first bookResisting Antiblackness in Education: A Pedagogy of Black Youth Aesthetics.

Drawing on over a decade of collaborative work with Black youth, Dr. Coles explores how young people’s artistic and cultural practices offer powerful ways to resist antiblackness and imagine more just educational spaces. This interactive book talk will invite participants to reflect on pedagogy, creativity, repair, and Black youth aesthetics!

The evening will include a book talk and signing, followed by a reception with food, drinks, and a live DJ.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration is requested to help us plan seating and books for signing.
