Early Childhood Education B.A. (UWW)
Interdisciplinary Studies BA - Concentration Early Childhood Education
Paraeducators (or teachers of record) who work within approved school districts can apply to complete their bachelor’s degree through the University Without Walls: Department of Interdisciplinary Studies and an Early Childhood Education (ECE) Initial Licensure program through the College of Education. This is a part-time online program developed in collaboration with select school districts within Western Massachusetts, the College of Education, and the University Without Walls: Department of Interdisciplinary Studies. This licensure pathway, along with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s approved Early Childhood Program within the College of Education, leads to Massachusetts initial licensure (PreK–2). Within this pathway ECE/UWW students engage in a rigorous academic program and in a carefully sequenced series of field experiences in diverse educational settings.
