About

Sandra Sarucia, MSEd, MPA, joins the College of Education with over fifteen years of experience in nonprofit and government leadership, Sandra works to promote equity in communities impacted by systemic injustice. She currently runs a nonprofit farm animal sanctuary where she is living her dream with her wife and dozens of rescued animals. Sandra spent her career in education, first as a Kindergarten teacher, then as a coach, school leader, and eventually making her way as a policymaker impacting tens of thousands of new educators across Massachusetts, centering anti-racist practices. As a tri-national Latina, Sandra speaks various languages, has traveled the world, and lives life on her own terms after experiencing severe burnout and depression. She now helps people tackle challenges head on and find a deeper connection with their most authentic self through coaching and facilitation. She also utilizes her extensive background in educator preparation to support educator licensure programs at UMass Amherst.
