Amel Ahmed, political science, and Joshua Braun, journalism, are among the five UMass Amherst faculty selected by Provost Fouad Abd-El-Khalick to receive a Mid-Career Post-Tenure (MCPT) Fellowship for the 2024-2025 academic year.

This competitively awarded fellowship, managed through the Office of Faculty Development, provides a research-intensive semester to associate professors whose service and teaching responsibilities have exceeded the norm. Award recipients receive one semester of release from teaching responsibilities, department obligations, and college service.

A call for MCPT applications is generally announced in the fall. Submissions require a short application and approval from the department chair/head and dean. Click here to learn more about the Fellowship and additional recipients of the award.
